Privacy Policy
Cold Steppe is operated by Cold Steppe Inc. of Stuttgart, Arkansas. This page explains what we collect when you get in touch, why we hold it, and how to ask us to change or delete it. Effective 10 August 2026.
What we collect
We collect what you choose to send us. Our contact form asks which kind of inquiry you have, your name and email address, and optionally your phone number, your company or organization, and whatever you write in the message field.
We also record which page you submitted the form from, so we know what you were reading when you got in touch.
We measure how the site is used, in aggregate: which pages are viewed, roughly where in the world from, and how quickly pages loaded. That measurement is run by our hosting provider, Vercel, it sets no cookies, and it does not identify you or follow you to other websites.
There are no advertising trackers and no third-party cookies here. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not buy or sell contact lists.
Why we hold it
To answer you, and to carry on the conversation you started - whether that is energy offtake, biomass supply, industrial materials or investment.
We do not send marketing you did not ask for. If we ever want to, we will ask first.
Who else sees it
Our own team, and the service providers who run the site for us - website hosting, the database the inquiry is stored in, and the service that delivers our email. They act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your details for anything else. We can tell you who they are if you ask.
If your inquiry is about Nourishing Burn and a USDA conservation program, we may share what is needed with USDA-NRCS and the relevant conservation partners. That only happens because you asked us to help with it.
We do not otherwise sell, rent or share your details. We may disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
For as long as we are dealing with your inquiry, and afterwards as part of our business records. If you would rather we did not, ask us to delete it.
What you can ask us to do
Ask us what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. Ask us to stop contacting you. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under state or national privacy law; tell us what you want and we will deal with it rather than argue about which statute applies.
Use the contact form on this site to reach us. We will confirm we have received the request.
Children
This is a site for commercial and agricultural audiences. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we will change this page and move the effective date at the top. Material changes will be flagged rather than slipped in.
